Dermatitis perioral - Overview

Definición:

Es un trastorno cutáneo caracterizado por pequeñas pápulas rojas (protuberancias) alrededor de la boca.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La dermatitis perioral afecta más comúnmente a las mujeres jóvenes, pero algunas veces también afecta a los hombres. Aunque su causa exacta se desconoce, puede aparecer después de la aplicación de cremas para la piel que contengan esteroides en la cara para tratar otras afecciones.
